Edward F. Swicegood, II

Edward Forest Swicegood, II, age 71, formerly of Mack Rd., Asheboro died Monday, September 23, 2013 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mr. Swicegood, II was born January 21, 1942 in Asheboro to Edward F. and Hazel McCain Swicegood. He was former owner of WKXR radio station and a former flight instructor at Asheboro Regional Airport. In addition to his parents, Mr. Swicegood was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Kearns Swicegood and daughter, Paula S. Swing. He is survived by his son, Ted Swicegood and his wife Penny of Asheboro; grandson, Ethan Swing of Asheboro; brother, Tommy Swicegood and his wife Peggy of North Myrtle Beach, SC; nephew, Ben Swicegood. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009. Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro is assisting the family.
