Mr. Goguen was born in Gardner, MA on January 6, 1917, the son of Saul Goguen and Henrietta Ledger Goguen. He spent most of his life there.
Edward was a woodworker at Heywood Wakefield Company in Gardner for 19 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was associated with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Asheboro, NC.
Ed played the Hawaiian guitar in a band during the 1940s, at which time he first met his wife, Fern. He was a talented carpenter, and hand made beautiful furniture, doll houses, jewelry boxes, and much more for his family. His sweet nature was enjoyed by a very large family and many friends, and he will be greatly missed. Sentiments from former pupils at Holy Rosary School include: "I remember Mr. Goguen well. I went to Holy Rosary in the 70's. He was always a hard worker and so dedicated. They don't make them like him anymore." Another: "I loved Mr Goguen--he was so nice. Such a great man. I also took sewing lessons after school from his wife....loved them both!"
