Edward Cleo Burks

Edward Cleo Burks, age 74, of 335 Freedom Dr., Asheboro died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston- Salem. Mr. Burks was a native of Altavista, VA but lived most of his adult life in Randolph County, NC where he retired from Prestige Fabricators. He is survived by sons: Edward J. Burks and Mark E. Burks both of Asheboro, and David D. Burks of Mount Joy, PA; brothers: P. T. Burks of Lynchburg, VA, Lawrence Burks of Forest , VA, Junior Burks of Asheboro, NC, Frank Burks of Crossville, TN; sister: Thelma Trent of Lynchburg, VA; 4 grandchildren; He was preceded in death by wives, Dora N. Burks and Betty H. Burks; brothers, Curtis E. Burks and Robert L. Burks. The family will receive friends Tuesday February 5, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and at other times at he home of his son Eddie at 616 Old Liberty Rd, Asheboro. In Virginia, the family will receive friends Wednesday February 6, 2008 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Church Of God Of Prophecy, 915 Ninth St., Altavista, VA. Prior to the service ; other times at the home of his brother, P.T. at 106 Gaddy Road in Lynchburg, VA The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at Church Of God Of Prophecy, with Rev. Burton King and Pastor Jon Shook officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Altavista Memorials may be made to Bailey's Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1556 North Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203
