Edna Hulin Waddell, age 92, of Asheboro died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 1928 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro with Rev. Doug Dennis officiating.
Ms. Waddell was born in Asheboro on December 28, 1920 to Jesse and Corrina Neighbors Hulin. She was employed in Washington, DC during WWII with the Department of Reconstructive Finance and later in Burlington, Iowa with Mason Silas Hanger Ammunition Plant. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her siblings, Grace Hulin Cornelius, Leo Hulin, Ora Hulin, Lessie Hulin Sink, Robert (Bob) Hulin, Troy Hulin, Marie Hulin, and Warren (Bill) Hulin. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her hobbies were crocheting doilies and cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Waddell of Asheboro, Pam Shunick-Waddell of Omaha, NE; sons, William A. Waddell of Lexington, OK, John D. Waddell of Oquawka, IL; granddaughters, Darci R. Lopez of Pearblossom, CA, Alicia Casper of Purcell, OK, Sara Waddell of Purcell, OK, Kristen Waddell of West Palm Beach, FL, and Caitlan Waddell of Palos Verdes, CA; great grandchildren, Penelope Rose Casper of Purcell, OK and Desi D. Lopez of Canyon Country, CA.
