Edna Louise Matthews

Edna Louise LaPrade Matthews, age 78, of Randleman died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Matthews was a native of Forsyth County. Edna was a loving lady, who was a creative person and artist. She also had a gift for gardening. Edna is preceded in death by her husband James Matthews, parents, Robert and Fannie Mae LaPrade, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. She is survived by her sons: Joe Matthews of Randleman, and Phal Sum of Asheboro; daughters: Janet Roberts and her husband Larry of Jackson Springs, Connie Gantt of Jamestown, Theresa West and her husband Lee of Vass, and Regina Haynes and her husband Terry of Randleman; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister: Betty Highfill of Asheboro; caregiver, Angie Jarrell. The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Steven Johnson officiating.
