Edith Cagle White

Edith Cagle White, age 87, of Brighton Gardens of Greensboro, 1208 New Garden Rd., Greensboro died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.Mrs. White was born January 15, 1921 in Reidsville, NC the daughter of Wiley and Esther Cagle. She served as a master welder in the Wilmington shipyard during WWII. She was a former member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Seagrove and First Baptist Church in Lumberton, and later at Godwin Heights Baptist Church, also in Lumberton, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack David White in 1999; her son, Wiley Phillips; and her brother, David Cagle.She is survived by daughter and her husband, Gail and Charles Welborn of Greensboro, NC; son and his wife, Larry and Peggy White of Cary, NC; granddaughter, Amy White of Starkville, MS; grandson and his wife, Brian and Carrie Welborn of Greensboro, NC; grandson and his wife, Jeff and Heather White of Manteo, NC; great granddaughter, Cora Welborn; great grandson, Randy Welborn; sister in law, Mildred Cagle of Seagrove.The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove with Rev. Raymond Hahn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
