Edith Fuquay Stutts, age 97, of Asheboro died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at First Health Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC
Mrs. Stutts was born July 25, 1917 the daughter of Bright and Lola Howell Fuquay.
Mrs. Stutts grew up in Troy, NC and was Miss Montgomery County of 1936. She was a longtime hairdresser and a member of First Baptist Church, Asheboro for 69 years. She enjoyed dancing and playing bridge and kept an immaculate yard. She loved sports, particularly the UNC Tarheels and anything connected to Dean Smith or Roy Williams. However, she was first and foremost, a loving mother. Her three daughters were the apples of her eyes and they will greatly miss her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and her husband: Edna and Otis Deaton.
She is survived by: daughter and her husband: Sybil and Alex Del Bueno of Pinehurst, NC; daughter and her fiancé: Judith Stutts and Howard Redding of Asheboro, NC; daughter and her husband: Pamela and Tony Brown of Statesville, NC; grandson and his wife: Spencer Taft and Tonda Brown of Asheville, NC; granddaughter and her husband: Kathryn and Jason Wysong of Charlotte, NC; great granddaughter: Sadie Jackson of Kernersville, NC; great granddaughter, Cecelia Brown of Asheville, NC; great granddaughter: Caroline Wysong of Charlotte, NC and a host of special friends: Jeff and Tami Nobles, Ann and Dennis Gardner, Julian and Patsy Foscue, Eulalie Phillips, Adelaide Iddings, Wanda Stout, Dr. John Rogers and Dr. Scotty Carpenter.
The Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers and Dr. Scotty Carpenter officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary.
