Edith F. Dowd

Edith Frazier Dowd, age 97, formerly of Howard Ave., Asheboro, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Mrs. Dowd was a native of Randolph County, retired from Teen Haven Dress Shop and was a member of Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dowd Sr., her daughter, Jane McDowell, three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Fred "Jerry" Dowd, Jr. of Asheboro; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Pervis Greene of Asheboro; grandchildren, Bryan Dowd and his wife Libby of Florence, SC, Ben Dowd and his wife Robin of Burlington, Ron Greene and his wife Susie of Wilmington, Amy White and her husband Alan of Raleigh, Lora Cromer and her husband Tony of Trinity, Bentley McDowell of Asheboro; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 1-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Arnold and Peggy Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church Cemetery.
