Edgar Warren "Ed" Sower, age 95, of 3545 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Randleman died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mr. Sower was born in Mitchell County, Kansas on June 10, 1915 to Roy Franklin and Maude Lowdermilk Sower. He was an insurance agent and was retired from Life of Virginia. Edgar was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Asheboro and in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Kay Francis Sower and daughter, Elizabeth Sower
He is survived by his son, James W. "Jimmy" Sower of Bryson City, NC; daughter, Judy Bailey and her husband Darrell of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Eddie Bailey, Elizabeth Adams, and Jay Sower; great grandchildren, Rhealyn and Dakota Adams; brothers, Raymond Sower and Forest Sower both of Kansas City, KS; and sister, Leona Dercher of Kansas City, KS.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of his daughter, 3545 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Randleman. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor O. Ralph Kraft, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
