Eddie Howard McNeill

Eddie Howard McNeill, age 74 of Asheboro, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. 

Eddie was born on September 26, 1949, in Randolph County to Edgar and Wilma Presnell McNeill. Eddie worked as a contractor building houses all over Randolph County. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, is a Vietnam Veteran, and attended Gibson United Methodist Church. Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Through the years he enjoyed spending time at Caraway Speedway where he drove the #19 car and was a regular at classic car shows all over the area. In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Wright McNeill and his faithful canine companion, EJ.

Eddie is survived by his companion, Jean Yates; sons, Chad McNeill (Donna) of Charlotte, Zach McNeill (Lisa) of Asheboro; five grandchildren; his brother, Ricky McNeill (Sandy) of Asheboro; and his nephew, Jake McNeill (Anna).

A memorial graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3448 New Hope Church Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Leon Thompson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
