Eddie G. Allen

Eddie G. Allen, age 81, of Asheboro died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Randolph Hospital. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 10:00-11:30 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A graveside service will follow on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Holly Spring Friends Meeting Cemetery, 2938 Holly Spring Road, Ramseur, with Dr. Terry L. Matthews officiating. Mr. Allen was born in Asheboro on March 28, 1932 to Guy and Lillie Beane Allen. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey West Allen, and brother, Clarkston "Corky" Allen. He is survived by his daughters, Pat Davidson and her husband, Chip, of Greensboro and Pam Hill of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Chas Davidson of Mooresville, Catie Davidson of Greensboro, and Emma Hill of Myrtle Beach, SC. Eddie retired as Senior Vice President from BB&T. He was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of Randolph Community College. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was an active member of the Asheboro Jaycees and the Asheboro Kiwanis Club and served as President for both of these organizations. He was also active in United Way and Chamber of Commerce. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts in an administrative role. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
