Dwayne Reid Johnson

Dwayne Reid Johnson, age 78, of 1137 Running Cedar Rd., Asheboro died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mr. Johnson was born August 22, 1934 in Randolph County, NC, the son of John Randolph and Minnie Shaw Johnson and attended Mountain View Independent Methodist Church. He was retired from Energizer. Dwayne loved gardening and woodworking, but most of all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife: Grace Yates Johnson; daughter: Amy and her husband, Brian Luck of Asheboro; sons: Randy and his wife, Brenda Johnson and Mike and his wife, Teresa Johnson, all of Asheboro; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; Sisters: Lucille Vestal of Asheboro and Patty and her husband Johnny Arnold of Archdale, NC; brothers: Bill Johnson of Asheboro, J.R. Johnson of Trinity, and Joe and his wife Ann Johnson of Carthage, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro with Rev. Mike McClure and Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
