Douglas Eugene "Doug" Robbins, age 76, of 123 Randolph St., Randleman and formerly of Mooresville died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman with Rev. Don Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.
Mr. Robbins was a native of Caroleen, NC and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired as Operations Manager with Van Waters and Rogers Chemical Company. He was a member of Liberty Road Baptist Church and a member of VFW Post 6724 in Paw Creek, NC. Doug was preceded in death by his wife Polly Robbins.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Cockman and her husband Jeff of Randleman, Debbie Robbins of Randleman, Carolyn Ann Robbins of Texas, Jackie McMinn and her husband Bob of Gastonia; sons, Eugene Robbins of Tampa, FL, Ricky Robbins of Randleman; stepdaughters, Teresa Johns and her husband Larry of Mooresville, Diane Luke of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gina Swartz of Fort Mill, SC; stepson, Jerry Bell of Charlotte; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Don Robbins of Tampa, FL; sister, Carolyn Panwitz and her husband Hart of Mooresville; and best friend, Howard Dixon of Randleman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at his home.
