Douglas McArthur Dillon

Douglas McArthur Dillon  - January 30th, 1943 - December 26th, 2023 

Doug, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on December 26th, 2023 at his home. He was born in Galax, VA. January 30th 1943. He retired from the textile industry as a department manager after 40 plus years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. & Zella Dillon, first wife Betty Russell Dillon and second wife Nancy Killion Dillon. 

Doug was a man who enjoyed reading and playing golf with his friends at the Asheboro City Golf Course and the fellowship they shared meant the world to him. He really enjoyed his church family at Asheboro Church of Christ on Meadowbrook Road and Sunday's service. 

Doug was most proud of his three Hole-in-One shots he accomplished over his long-playing career. All three were witnessed and documented which he freely pointed out when asked. 

He is survived by his son, John E. Dillon (Dana) of High Point and his daughter Jennifer Dorton (Robert) of Asheboro; sister, Wanda Sue Cornett; brothers, Billy Wayne Dillon (Gaynell), Johnny Doyte Dillon (Rosemary), Michael Dillon (Janice) and Robert V. Dillon (Ione). 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave, Asheboro, NC. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chandler Francis officiating.
