Dennis Douglas "Doug" Marshall, age 63, of Asheboro died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Marshall was born December 3, 1950 in Greensboro to Oscar and Sadie Marshall. He grew up in Greensboro and was a 1970 graduate of Page High School. Mr. Marshall was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era where he was a sharp shooter and served as an executive chef. He was retired from Lowes Foods of Ramseur. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his brother, Sanders Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gardner Marshall; daughters, Traci Taylor and husband Rodney of Liberty, Lesley Stanley and husband Lynn of Thomasville, Amy Vestal and husband Mike of Randleman; grandchildren, Courtney Fannin, Hannah and Landon Stanley, Cameron, Andrew and Luke Vestal; sisters, Hulda Campbell of McLeansville, Gloria Collins of Asheboro; brothers, Ernest Marshall of McLeansville, Burnie Marshall of Greensboro, Larry Marshall of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benjamin T. Chavis officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
