Doug Allred

John Douglas "Doug" Allred, age 76, of Asheboro died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Randolph Hospital. Mr. Allred was born in Franklinville on August 25, 1937 to Woosley and Gladys Allred, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Naval Reserves and was retired from Energizer after 43 years of service. Doug was a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Martin Allred; sons, Jay Allred of the home, Brian Allred and his wife Jackie of Asheboro; grandson, Chase Allred; brother, Richard Allred and his wife Phyllis of Franklinville; and granddog, Waylon. The family would like to thank the nurses, staff, and faculty for their loving care and concern during the time that Doug was at Woodland Hill. The family will receive friends at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Memorials may be made to the Randolph SPCA, 160 N. Park St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
