Dorothy Hughes Thompson, age 93, of 2477 Old Humble Mill Road, Asheboro died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, 157 Sawyersville Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Gene Schenck and Rev. Mike Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Thompson was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Hughes and Rev. Henry Thompson, daughters, Margaret R. Hughes and Clara Hughes, and sister, Maranda H. Rich. She is survived by her daughters, Grace H. Humble and her husband James Harvey Humble of Asheboro, NC; Virginia H. Lilly and her husband Rev. Howard Earl Lilly of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Howard Lilly, Jr. of Asheboro, NC, Janet Woodlieff of Thomasville, NC, Charles Lilly of Archdale, NC, Sam Lilly of Randleman, NC, Karen Brower of Lexington, NC and Jimmy Humble of Randleman, NC; great grandchildren, Carlin Woodlieff, Cayla Woodlieff, Jonathan Woodlieff, Justin Humble, Courtney Humble and Carly Humble.The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 2:00-3:00 PM at the church and other times at both of the daughters' homes.
