Dorothy Trexler Smith

Dorothy Trexler Smith, age 90, of Asheboro died Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Smith was born March 14, 1926 in Thomasville to William Grant Trexler, Sr. and Geneva Brown Trexler. Dot was retired from General Electric and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her brothers, William "Bill" Trexler, Jr., Harold Trexler, Bobby Trexler and sister, Margaret Ann Prewitt. She is survived by her husband, James Boyd Smith; son, James Boyd Smith, Jr. of Asheboro; nieces, Beth Freeman of Asheboro, Jan Long of Archdale, Betty Hodgin Smith of Seattle, WA; nephews, Eddie Trexler of Asheboro, Bill Smith of Asheboro, David Hodgin of Seattle, WA; 3 great nephews; 1 great great nephew. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6:30-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro with Dr. J. F. Howard officiating.
