Dorothy Schoenberger, age 94, of 514 Vision Dr., Asheboro died Monday, September 21, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25th at 12 noon at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark J. Key officiating. Burial will be in Ramseur Wesleyan Church Cemetery.Mrs. Schoenberger was a native of New York, NY and a homemaker. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and dancer. Mrs. Schoenberger, along with her late husband, William, were an award winning ballroom dance couple, winning several trophies in the Jitterbug, the Lindy Hop and Swing Dancing in the New York City area during the 1930's and 40's. She is survived by sons, William "Bill" Schoenberger of Asheboro, Robert "Bob" Schoenberger of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Kathy Malpass and her husband Don of Asheboro, Richard Schoenberger and his wife Denise of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Tyler Malpass, Addie and Alec Schoenberger all of Asheboro.The family will receive friends Friday, September 25, 2009 from 10:00 - 11:30 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
