Dorothy Alene Shaw Nance

Dorothy Alene Shaw Nance, of Asheboro died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Nance was born February 8, 1927 the daughter of James Albert and Effie Jane Harvell Shaw. Mrs. Nance was a native of Randolph County and member of New Union United Methodist Church. She was retired from General Electric and Black & Decker Manufacturing. Dot also assisted her husband, James in running James Nance Greenhouses and enjoyed her dog, Roxy. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Grace Hurley, Colon Shaw, Lloyd Shaw, Ralph Shaw, Virginia Humble and Irene Hammer. She is survived by her husband of 54 years: James Reid Nance, daughter: Sherrie Nance of Raleigh, son: Randy Nance of Asheboro, daughter in law: Kimberly Presnell of Asheboro; grandchildren: Anderson McCord, Alexander McCord, Jessica Nance and Mauressa Sweatt; great grandchildren: Terry Wayne Sweatt, III and Alisyn Carol Sweatt; sister: Lucille Shaw Richardson of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Monday, May 4, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Lauren Hill officiating.
