Dorothy Nancy Russell Linthicum, age 90, of Randleman died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point. Dot was born May 21, 1922 in Mt Gilead, NC, the daughter of Clee Harrison and Anna Parnell Russell. She grew up in High Point, where she was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, and moved to Randleman at the age of fifteen. Dot was a homemaker and spent many hours canning, preserving and freezing vegetables and fruits from the family gardens. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing crossword and word search puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Clarence Clinton Linthicum and her sisters Myrtle Buck, Viola Baker and Lena (Tiny) Nielsen and her brother, Eli Bunyon (Bunny) Russell.
Dot is survived by her son, Larry Linthicum of Archdale; daughter, Lynn Harris and her husband Bill of Randleman; granddaughters, Anna Hawks and her husband Chris of Randleman and Dorothy Harris of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Taylor Ritch of Chapel Hill and Leah Ritch of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Rd., Sophia with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
