Dorothy Britt Holt

Dorothy Britt Cranford Holt, age 86, formerly of Ophir Ave, Troy, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Dorothy was a native of Montgomery County; she was born April 26, 1930, the daughter of Walter and Mittie McCaskill Britt. She attended Long Hill Baptist Church and worked in the medical field for twenty years. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an excellent cook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Holt, Sr., stepson Sonny Holt and brother, Larry Wayne Britt. She is survived by two children: Terry Cranford and wife Claudia, and Sheila Lassiter and husband Tony, both of Troy; one brother: Howard Britt of Troy; four grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two stepchildren: Sylvia Wright and husband Robert of Smithfield, VA and Cornelia Zaremsky and husband Adam of Troy. The family will receive friends Monday, February 27, 2017 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm in Southside Cemetery, S. Main St., Troy with Rev. Mark Forrest officiating.
