Dorothy Leigh Harris

Dorothy Leigh Trotter (Dot) Harris, age 85, formerly of Charlie Harris Rd., Trinity NC. died Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Gastonia, NC. Mrs. Harris was born July 14, 1929 the daughter of Waymon and Clara Davis Trotter. Mrs. Harris was a native of Randolph County and retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Sharon Free Will Baptist Church in Belmont, NC. Dorothy married Carl Brown Harris on November 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Lois Atkins and Ann Hill. She is survived by two daughters: Margie H. Grantham and husband Don of Autryville, NC, Dianne H. Waggoner and husband Randy of Gastonia, NC; granddaughter: Julia Smith and husband Bryan of Trinity, NC; great grandchildren: Heather Nicole Pullum, Billy Ray Pullum, Chasity Dawn Smith all of Trinity, NC, and Natalie Ann Waggoner of Gastonia, NC; brothers; Hurley Trotter of Sophia, NC and Jerry Trotter and wife Lucy of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, 4836 Robbins Circle Rd., Asheboro with Dr. Jody Harrison and Rev. Odell Cook officiating.
