Dorothy Mae Graves

Dorothy Mae Kennedy Graves, age 75, of Randleman died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Baptist Church, 9042 US 311, Archdale with Pastor Tim White and Rev. Frank Gribble officiating. Burial will follow in the Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Graves was born in Robbins, NC on May 15, 1936 to Arlie and Esther Maness Kennedy. Dorothy was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Archdale where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was formerly employed with Trinity Junior High School and Amos Hosiery Mill, and was retired from Spectrum Furniture. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Kennedy and Odell Kennedy, and granddaughters, Ashley Wrenn and Zoni Graves. Dorothy was a loving wife for 57 years. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all she touched. She is survived by her husband, Farrell Graves; daughters, Annette G. Turner of Thomasville, NC, Karen G. Ledbetter and her husband Reed of Randleman, NC; sons, Douglas Graves and his wife Erica of Trinity, NC; Lloyd Graves and his fianc Kelly Everhart of Kernersville, NC, Reece Graves and his fianc Jeanise Stamey of Trinity, NC; grandchildren, Arlie Wrenn of Thomasville, NC, Lane Ledbetter and his wife Jill of Trinity, NC, Chad Graves of Durham, NC, Kirby Graves of Trinity, NC; great grandchild, Georgia Ledbetter of Trinity, NC; sisters, Ernestine Presnell of Asheboro, NC, Linda Beane of Randleman, NC, Carolyn Poole of Seagrove, NC; and brother, Sidney Kennedy of Robbins, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Gospel Baptist Church, 9042 US 311, Archdale, NC 27263.
