Doris Hamilton Rich

Doris Maxine Hamilton Rich, age 83, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Randolph Health.

Mrs. Rich was born in Randolph County on February 23, 1934 to Deward Weston and Mary Maxine Williams Hamilton. Before becoming a full time homemaker, Doris was employed in the hosiery industry. She attended Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Pete" Jarrell Rich and sister, Diane Keen. Doris enjoyed playing the piano and writing poetry. She was a very loving, caring, and giving lady who had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. Doris loved her family and would do anything for them.

She is survived by her son, Rick Davis and wife Gail of Asheboro; daughter, Tami Garner and husband Worth of Denton; granddaughters, Kayla Jordan and husband Justin of Charlotte and Danielle Garner of Denton; and brother, Don Hamilton and wife Marilyn of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, 157 Sawyersville Road, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Darrell Rabon, Rev. Jeff Garner and Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
