Doris McPeters Frisby, age 83, of Sophia passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Frisby was born in Yancey County on April 4, 1936 to Greshem and Edith Ogle McPeters. She was retired from High Point Regional Hospital after 21 years of service and was a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Reeves Frisby, son, Grover Dale Frisby, and siblings, Madge McPeters, Frances Davis, Samuel McPeters, and Irene Innis. Doris was a God-fearing, kind, and caring lady. She was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family and church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Schrimsher and husband Michael of Sophia; sons, Roy Lee Frisby and wife Robin of Trinity and Garrett Frisby and wife JoAnn of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister, Alene Kennedy of Wallburg; and her canine friend, Roscoe.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Fashioned Baptist Church, 3823 Richey Road in Denton with Pastor Frankie Royals and Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Randolph and her caregivers for the loving and kind care given to Doris.
