Doris Allen Floyd

Doris Allen Floyd, age 90, of Troy died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice Palliative Care in Pinehurst. Mrs. Floyd was born February 23, 1925 in Montgomery County to Chesley and Ethel Allen. She was retired from Lynn-Dean Fashions and was a member of Shady Grove Christian Church. Mrs. Floyd was always dressed in the latest fashions and had a great sense of humor. She was a great cook who loved spending time cooking for her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Floyd and daughter, Kay F. Hittepole. She is survived by her grandson, Mark Hittepole; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; sisters, Melba F. Blue of Troy, Treva Freeman and husband Sherman Freeman, Jr. of Ether; brothers, Von Allen and wife Savannah Allen of Biscoe, June Allen of Mt. Gilead. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Christian Church, 2519 Okeeweemee Rd., Star, NC. Funeral services will follow 3:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Freeman, Pastor Jimmy Shirlen and Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home.
