Doris Gardner Cockerham

Doris Gardner Cockerham, age 77, of 3894 NC Hwy 42 S., Asheboro died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.Mrs. Cockerham was born April 30, 1932 the daughter of J H and Blanche Albright Gardner. She was a native of Randolph County, NC and was a member of Asheboro First Wesleyan Church. She was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery Mill and was retired from Black and Decker after 19 years of service. She was a volunteer of the Randolph Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Road to Recovery Program, where she drove patients for cancer treatment and later assisted in scheduling drivers. She is survived by her husband, George Allen Cockerham, sons: Mark Cockerham of Asheboro and Michael Cockerham and his wife Rena of Coleridge; granddaughter: Lauren Cockerham of Coleridge; brothers: Albert Gardner of Ramseur and Earl Gardner of Franklinville.The family will receive friends Monday, November 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. in Asheboro. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Asheboro First Wesleyan Church, 825 Highland St. in Asheboro with Rev. Mark C. Beane and the Rev. A.J.
