Doris Sue Hammett Brady, age 59, of Asheboro died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Hill officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brady was born in Randolph County on October 14, 1954 to Tommy and Mozelle Lewis Hammett and attended Randleman High School. Doris was employed as an Independent Sales Agent and was formerly an agent for Banker's Life and Casualty Insurance Company. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry M. Hunt. Doris always went the "extra mile" to help her family and friends, especially the elderly, and cared for many.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Brady; step son, Jerry Hunt, Jr. of Kannapolis; step daughters, Tracie Ward and her husband Bill of Ramseur, Tara Brady of Asheboro; step son, Travis Brady and his wife Donna of Asheboro; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Marie Beeson and her husband Edwin of Sophia, Jean Brazier and her husband Tommy of Asheboro; brothers, Howard Hammett and his wife Janice of Trinity, Jerry Hammett and his wife Shirley of Asheboro, and Tony Hammett of Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
