Doris Ann Solomon Godfrey, age 77, formerly of 130 W. Academy St., Randleman and Graybrier Nursing Home, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Mrs. Godfrey was born December 9, 1932 in Randleman, NC, the daughter of the late Cyrus Watson and Nannie (Hinshaw) Lamb. She was retired from Commonwealth Hosiery Mill and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Asheboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Hermus Solomon, Jr.; her son, Dewey Hermus "Hermie" Solomon, III; and her sisters, Reba Whitt and Yvonne Presnell.
She left behind four daughters: Ann Long of Grantville, NC, Kathy Sechrest of High Point, NC, Brenda Gray of Randleman, NC, and Chris Adams of Sophia, NC, Grandchildren: Audrey Cole, Jennifer Thompson, Tarra Watford, and Brad Chriscoe; and 8 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00-12:30 PM at Randleman School Commons Auditorium in Randleman, NC. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 114 Frances St., Asheboro with Rev. David Spaulding and Rev. Ed Tapper officiating.
The family would like to thank the Randolph Hospital Nurses and Staff for their care and a special thanks to Judy Parrish, Mrs. Godfrey's neice and best friend for her special love and care.
