Dora Hill Hathaway, age 84, of Asheboro died Friday, October 18, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point.
Mrs. Hathaway was born December 31, 1928, in Thomasville, NC, the daughter of Carlos A. Hill and Emily Templeton Hill.
She was formerly employed as a teacher's assistant in the Randolph County School system. Dora faithfully attended the Mountain View Independent Methodist Church and spent many hours as a greeter with Pugh Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Kenneth Hathaway, Jr. and her sister, Helen Wilson.
She is survived by sons: Michael Elliott of Albemarle; David Elliott and his wife Karen of Winston- Salem; Steven Hathaway of High Point; and Gene Hathaway and his wife Kathy of Asheboro; daughter, Noleen Hathaway of Albany, NY; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister: Joyce Floyd of Thomasville; and one brother: Claiborne Hill of Winston- Salem.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21st at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Hauk officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 20th from 3 to 5 PM, and at other times at the home of her son, Gene, 3137 Poplar Forest Lane, Asheboro.
