Dora Lee Barker

Dora Lee Barker, age 83, of Asheboro died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Randolph Hospital. Mrs. Barker was a native of Surry County and a member of Amity Hills Baptist Church. She was retired from Asheboro Hosiery and was previously employed with Commonwealth Hosiery. Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Glenn Barker and grandson, Steven Brady. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Kearns and her husband Walton of Asheboro, Teresa Perdue and her husband Charles of Asheboro, Carolyn Ward and her husband Doug of Asheboro; son, Thomas L. Barker of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Boyd of Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Ward, 1960 Berkley Lane, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Wall officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
