Donald Wayne Shoaf, age 76, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville.
Mr. Shoaf was born March 27, 1939 the son of Fred and Sarah Tuttle Shoaf.
Don was a native of Davidson County and a US Army Veteran. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who was always dedicated to his family. He was a graduate of Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC and was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. He had worked for over 30 years in the airline industry with Piedmont Airlines and retired with US Airways. Don enjoyed racing, gardening and small engine repair.
He is survived by: daughter and her husband: Jill Shoaf Hoppa (Anthony) of Rochester, NY; daughter: Heather Shoaf Thomas of Asheboro, NC; son: Timothy Shoaf (Sherri) of Kernersville, NC; former wife and mother of his children: Dottie Musten of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren: Zachary Andrew Thomas, Anthony Jacob Hoppa, Jerald Thomas Hoppa, Camden Joshua Thomas, Mason Lee Shoaf; and one sister and her husband: Betty and Ralph Nance of High Point, NC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Pastor Alan Caesar and Pastor Dan Lyons officiating.
