Donald Ray Parrish

Donald Ray Parrish, Sr., age 80, of Sophia died Monday, June 18, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Parrish was born November 22, 1937 the son of Locke Craig and Beulah Mae Voncannon Parrish. Donald was a native of Randolph County and retired from the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. He also enjoyed farming, watching the fruits of his labor grow. Donald was a giver and lived life his way. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Diggs Parrish, brothers, Willard, Tommy and Paul Parrish.

He is survived by his sons: Donald Ray Parrish, Jr. of Randleman, and James Eric Parrish (Paula) of Sophia; daughter: Wincy Ann Thompson (Willie) of Sophia; grandchildren, Tracy Lynn Parrish and Trey Parrish (Amber) all of Randleman; great grandchildren, Houston and Brooke Parrish; sisters: Iris Hayes, Frankie Pelletier and Linda Styles; brothers: Roger Parrish, Elvin Parrish, Lawson Parrish and Wayne Parrish; and beloved canine friend, Chance.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow 11:00 am in the chapel with J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
