Donald "Pap" James Callicutt

Donald James "Pap" Callicutt, age 80, of 122 S. High Street, Asheboro died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home. Pap was born on April 21, 1929 the son of Rankin and Zelma McPherson Callicutt. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at the First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will be private. Pap was a native of Asheboro, attended Asheboro High School, and served in the US Navy. He worked with Union Carbide and retired from Eveready of Asheboro and was a long-time member of First E & R United Church of Christ of Asheboro. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Albright Callicutt; son, Don Callicutt of Ooltewah, TN; daughters, Jana Barnette and her husband Ashley of Charlotte, NC; Dee Ann C. Morris of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Sarah and Brian Callicutt, Eren and Alleson Morris, Blake and Brysen Barnette; and sister, Helen Beane of Asheboro, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Billy, Bobby, and Vance Callicutt and one sister, Rachel Ward. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall until 5:30 P.M and other times at his home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
