Donald Elsie McKenzie

Donald Elsie McKenzie, age 92, formerly of Rich Ave., Asheboro, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation in Siler City. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Mr. McKenzie was a native of Star, NC and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. He was retired from Hedgecock Builders Supply Company of Asheboro and Asheboro Concrete Products Company and was formerly employed with Asheboro Hosiery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia S. McKenzie, and his parents, Noah E. and Bessie Williamson McKenzie. He is survived by his daughter, Emily M. Pell and her husband Jimmy of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Julia Cook and her husband Charlie of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Stephen Pell and his wife Cynthia of Ramseur, NC; great granddaughters, Anna and Scarlett Pell; and brother, James McKenzie of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
