Donald Ray Burris

Donald Ray Burris, age 60, of 251 Deerfield Circle, Troy, NC died Saturday, December 17, 2011. Mr. Burris was born February 19, 1951 the son of Johnny Matthew and Helen Bristow Burris. The family will receive friends Monday, December 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 819 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Troy with Rev. Grady Blakely and Rev. Jerry Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Burris was a native of Troy, NC and a graduate of West Montgomery High School. He ran vending routes for Coca Cola and Central Carolina Vending for many years. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and had attended Tabernacle Baptist. He loved his grandchildren and his music. He played bass guitar for the bands: 220 South and the Secret Agents. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife: Debbie Carter Burris; son: Kevin Burris of Pittsboro, NC; son and his wife, Chris and Erin Burris of Troy, NC; son and his wife, Phillip and Dema Cranford of Troy, NC; grandchildren: Madison and Coleman Burris and Harley and Gavin Cranford; father: Johnny Matthew Burris; sister and her husband; Joyce and Donald Sheppard of Troy, NC; sister and her husband; Shirley and Jim Luther of Troy, NC and sister: Linda Hunt of Troy, NC.
