Dolly K. VunCannon

Dolly  Kirkman VunCannon, age 90, of Randleman died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at The Laurels of Greentree Ridge, Asheville.

Mrs. VunCannon was born April 18, 1928 the daughter of Millard and Verla Routh Kirkman.Dolly was a native of Randolph County and a member of Sophia Baptist Church. She was a homemaker for 54 years and long-time caregiver of her husband, Jim. Dolly was an avid UNC Tar Heel fan and super proud to be the great grandmother of Ali Rea. In addition to her parents, Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, James W. VunCannon, daughter, Dara Darlene VunCannon, brothers, Tommy and Clay Kirkman, sisters, Opal Yow and Alice Faye Kirkman.She is survived by her son: Tony VunCannon and wife Jean-Marie of Asheville; granddaughter: Hannah Starnes and husband Cooper of Morganton; great granddaughter: Alison Reah Starnes of Morganton; brother: Bruce Kirkman of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel, with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
