Dewey Monroe Talbert

Dewey Monroe Talbert, age 90, of Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, Candor died Monday, February 1, 2010 at the facility. Mr. Talbert was born January 11, 1920 in Lexington, NC, the son of Albert Monroe and Minnie Katherine (Cranford) Talbert. He was a US Army veteran and self-employed in the construction industry. He is survived by one daughter: Cynthia D. Brown of Wilkesboro; one son: Randall Powers of Troy; two stepdaughters: Sherry L. Russell of Salisbury and Terri L. Morris of New London; one sister: Gladys Talbert of Asheboro; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Blaine Rd, New London with Tony Sedberry officiating. Arrangements by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home.
