Dennis Wayne Davis, age 71, of Siler City passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Davis was a native of Johnston County, NC. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and served his country during the Cold War and Vietnam War. Dennis was an electrician and was formerly employed with Watson Electric, Myers Electric, H&L Electric for 20 years, and retired from Cypress Electric. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Barney Davis, Sr. and Vera Price Davis, his wife of 29 years, Nancy Davis, and his brother, Barney Davis, Jr. Dennis loved riding motorcycles and traveling to the beach and mountains.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Southard and husband Wayne of Asheboro and Kristin Davis of Greenville; stepson, Danny Sykes and wife Vickie of Asheboro; stepdaughters, Jan Brown and husband Jack of Randleman and Michelle Trotter of Asheboro; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Ennis, Sandra Temple, and Sarah Davis all of Smithfield; brother, Keith Davis and wife Linda of Smithfield; and his beloved dog, Camo.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service, with military honors, will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Dale McCoy officiating.
