David Grayson Grigg

David Grayson Grigg, age 71 of Troy, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.  

David was born on July 21, 1950 in Shelby NC, the son of the late D.P. Grigg and the late Virginia Grayson.  David was a graduate of Western Carolina University.  He worked for First Bank for 42 years, where he retired as C.I.O.  He was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Troy where he was active in multiple ministries, including finance, trustees, praise and worship team, senior ministry, and children's ministry.  David enjoyed traveling with his family to the mountains and the beach.  He loved to piddle on his tractor, work in his garden, and was an avid beekeeper alongside his wife.  He loved to cook and was known for his vegetable beef soup, banana pudding, and peach cobbler.  David was a loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather who loved his grandbabies.

David  is survived by his wife of 16 years, Karen Trogdon Grigg of the home; children: Amanda Remole (Ryan) of Thomasville, NC, David Paul Grigg (Ashley) of Thomasville, NC, and Ellen Almond (Jason) of Locust, NC; step-children: Patrick Ferree (Elise) of Claremont, CA, Tamara Wallace (Dane) of Wasilla, AK, and Bradley Ferree (Elaine) of Carthage, NC; 14 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren,  and one great grandchild on the way; one brother: Daniel Grigg of Shelby, NC.                                       

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy. 134N, Troy, NC.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 3:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy. 134N, Troy, NC, with Dr. Edward Lindsey officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
