David Allen Delk, age 53, of Jackson Creek died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Delk was born in Ft. Bragg on February 7, 1962 to Henry and Barbara Martin Delk. He was a 1980 graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School. He operated Asheboro Well Company for 24 years and was the owner/operator of AAA Portable Toilets. David started in the Boy Scouts organization with Cub Scout Pack #509 and then as Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop #500, which produced many Eagle Scouts. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara. David was a firearm's enthusiast and enjoyed guns, going to the lake, riding jet skis and four-wheelers. Most mornings, he could be found at the Harley shop/Heritage Diner having breakfast.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Millikan Delk; sons, Dakota and Nevada Delk and Dakota's wife: Rachel; father and stepmother, Henry and Barbara Delk of Jackson Creek; brother, Jr. Delk and wife Gina of Jackson Creek; nieces and nephews, Andrew, Phillip, Rebecca, Jacob, Amber, Madison, Nathan and Jackson; parents In-law, James and Lurlene Millikan of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 7594 Jackson Creek Rd., where David attended and was a member. The Rev. Benny Clodfelter and Rev. Jonathan Burris will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
