David Oscar Cooper, Jr.

David Oscar Cooper, Jr, age 93, of Asheboro, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Cooper was born July 26, 1921 in Randolph County to David and Mary Cooper. He retired from General Electric as purchasing manager. An avid sports fan, Mr. Cooper was a wonderful father and grandfather whose joy in life was spending time with his family. He was loved by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Callicutt Cooper. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Lane and husband Harry of Lexington, Doris Baxter and husband Mike of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Reid Baxter and wife Liz Baxter of Waxhaw, Karen Baxter Sullivan and husband J. T. of Waxhaw, Brandon Lane and wife Traci Lane of Archdale, Dr. Justin Lane and wife Valentina of Wilmington; 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Callicutt Memorial Church Cemetery, 3331 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro with Rev. Todd Leach officiating.
