David Samuel Benton

David Samuel Benton, age 71, of Star died Monday, October 21, 2013. Mr. Benton was a native of Columbus County and a member of Worthville Baptist Church, Randleman. David was the owner of Benton Steps & Deck. He was a hard working man who loved his family and truly enjoyed spending time at the lake boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife: Linda Tyler Benton of the home; two daughters: Robin Jennings and her husband Chuck of Randleman, and Angel Cooke of Trinity; son: David "Jed" Benton of Greensboro; grandchildren: Joe Benton, Charlie and Cory Jennings, Tyler and Eli Cooke; great grandchildren: Austin and Aaron Jennings, and Madison Benton. brothers: John Benton of Fairmont, NC, and Robert Stewert of Hallsboro, NC. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Worthville Baptist Church, 1053 Castle Rock Road, Randleman with Junior Dawkins and Rev. Thurman Williams officiating.
