Darlene Ellen Vachula

Darlene Ellen Kunkle Vachula, age 61, of Asheboro died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Vachula was born November 27, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to Albert and Elizabeth Kunkle. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was employed as a respiratory therapist at Chatham Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Robert Vachula; son, Chris Shanahan of Philadelphia, PA and sister, Hope Hoffman of Philadelphia, PA. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 S. Park St., Asheboro. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro is assisting the family.
