Daniel Eugene "Danny" Davis, age 60, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Davis was born in Winston-Salem on September 9, 1955 to Virgil Eugene and Joann Abee Davis. He was a 1973 graduate of R.J. Reynolds Senior High School and a 1977 graduate of Western Carolina University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in General Management. Over the years, he worked for various trucking companies including Georgia-Pacific and United Furniture Industries as Transportation/ Warehouse Manager. After retirement, he drove for RCATS as a substitute driver. Danny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and had attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, James Cockerham. He is survived by his wife, Lois K. Davis; son, Jonathan Davis of Greensboro; mother, Joann Davis Cockerham of Winston-Salem; brother, Ronnie Davis of Winston-Salem; and his favorite little dog, Abby. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 pm at The Exchange, 204 South Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randolph County Senior Adults Association, 347 W. Salisbury St., Asheboro, NC 27203 or the American Diabetes Association, 1300 Baxter St., Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Davis family.
