Dan James

Fred Daniel "Dan" James, Sr. age 79, of Asheboro died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. Mr. James was a native of Asheboro and retired from American Cotton Growers in Littlefield, TX. He retired to Myrtle Beach for 14 years before returning home to Asheboro in September 2012. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #699, Asheboro Lodge. Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ione James. He is survived by his wife, Betty S. James; daughters, Danette Fitch and husband Ricky of Graham, Vickie Debari and husband Bill of Randleman, Kim Gillespie and husband Walter of Danville, VA; sons, Fred James, Jr. and companion, Loretta Rollins of Greer, SC, Kyle James and wife Heidi of Lake Charles, LA; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister: Dovie Ann Mooneyhan of Durham. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating.
