Dalton Hall Morris, age 66, of 1150 Okeewemee Road, Troy died Friday, February 3, 2012 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.
Mr. Morris was born July 5, 1945 at Troy, NC, the son of the late Wilburn Morris and Virginia Maxine Hall Morris of Sanford. He was a US Army veteran and a 24 year member of the National Guard. Dalton was a former employee of the Montgomery County Water Department and also worked in the heating and air conditioning business. He was a member of Forks of Little River Baptist Church.
Dalton was well known in his community as a devoted animal lover. Because of his love for homeless animals, he was very instrumental in helping establish the Montgomery County Humane Society.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Sally Maness Morris of the home; brother Joel Morris of Sanford; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Sadie Cox and husband, Bill of Ramseur; brother-in-law: Roy Maness and wife, Wanda of Troy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 2 pm at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee-Star Road, Troy, NC with Rev. Billy Roy and Rev. Irvin Thompson officiating. Inurment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the services for Mr. Morris.
