Cora Pardue Robbins McDowell, age 88, formerly of Asheboro, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the home of her son in Mt. Gilead.
Mrs. McDowell was born in Winston-Salem on December 4, 1926 to Thomas Clifton and Sadie Varner Pardue. She was formerly employed with Klopman and Cetwick Mills. Cora loved the Lord and her church, Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, where she was a member and very involved with senior activities. Cora loved to travel and fish.
She is survived by her son, Tom Robbins and wife Carol of Mt Gilead; daughter, Marie Duncan and husband Mark of Liberty; stepdaughters, Linda Bonkemeyer and husband Charles of Asheboro, Betty Petty of Franklinville; grandchildren, Wendy Garner and husband Jeff, Tommie Ann Robbins, Stephen Pritchard and wife Carrie, Justin Pritchard and wife Ashley, Kelly Chaney and husband Mac, Greg Beane and wife Hope, Sherri Beane, Summer Covington; 10 great grandchildren; brother, David Lee Pardue and wife Laura of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of David and Laura Pardue, 1121 Park Drive, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, 1810 Old Farmer Road, Asheboro with Rev. Sandra Ireson, Rev. Jeff Garner, and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
