Mrs. Stout was born in Asheboro, NC on April 25, 1916 to Charles Thomas and Lillian Robbins Ledwell, who preceded her in death. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Ervin Franklin Stout. One day as she and her sisters were talking about the boys who came around to admire the beautiful Ledwell girls, someone asked her which one she wanted. She replied that her pick was the little one with the car (Ervin Stout)! Colean was an active member of New Union United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and served as organist and pianist for many years. She was a very generous and talented person and enjoyed gardening and cooking for anyone that came to visit her.
Colean openly expressed Christian love to all around her. She was an especially loving and caring "Granny" to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a grandmother worthy of praise, and the best Granny anyone could have.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth F. "Ken" Stout and his wife Betty of Greensboro, NC; their children, Donna Weekley and her husband Craig and their son Michael; Thomas Stout and his children Caroline and Thomas; Jennifer McIntyre and her children Emily and Chandler; daughter, Judith S. Owens and her husband Jim of Asheboro, NC; their children Lillian Wright and her husband Michael, Tony Owens, Jonathan Owens and his wife Yajaira and their son James; and sister, Kathleen Osborne of Winston-Salem, NC.
